The Prince William County School Board members

Members of the Prince William County School Board representing seven magisterial districts and the At-Large Chairman were sworn into office at a special ceremony on December 18 at the Edward Kelly Leadership Center. They will take their seats at the first regularly scheduled Prince William County School Board meeting on January 8.

Four people on the eight-member board will be returning to represent their districts: Lillie G. Jessie (Occoquan), Diane L. Raulston (Neabsco), Justin D. Wilk (Potomac – Vice Chairman), and Loree Y. Williams (Woodbridge). Also returning is Chairman At-Large Dr. Babur Lateef.

New to the Board are Adele Jackson representing the Brentsville District, Jennifer Wall representing the Gainesville District, and Lisa Zargarpur representing the Coles District.

Clerk of Court for Prince William County Jacqueline Smith administered the oath of office. The Marine Junior Reserve Officer Training Corp (JROTC) from Gar-Field High School presented the colors at the ceremony while the school’s Dominants choir, under the direction of Dr. Nathan St. Pierre, performed the National Anthem and during the reception.

The sitting Board will serve a four-year term starting January 1. A new vice chairman will be elected by the members at the School Board’s organizational meeting on January 8.
