Fred M. Lynn Middle school will be the fourth Prince William County school to offer the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (IBMYP). The school boasts a culturally diverse student body that represents more than 30 countries speaking more than 20 languages. By implementing the IBMYP, Fred M. Lynn Middle School will continue to focus on instruction and learning with an international emphasis. The IBMYP continues in grades 9 and 10 and is offered at Gar-field and Stonewall Jackson High Schools.

The IBMYP program is a challenging, comprehensive academic program with an emphasis on reading, writing, math skills, and analytical thinking. Requirements include community service and portfolios of achievement. The program at the middle school level offers preparatory courses that provide a foundation for the two-year IB diploma and certificate programs at the high school level.
