COLES ELEMENTARY

OVERVIEW
Coles ES students come to music every 3 days for 45 minutes. The goal of the program is that each student will have opportunities to perform, create, investigate, and connect music of many cultures, styles, and historical periods. Beginning in 3rd grade, students play the recorder, and in 5th grade have the option of taking strings.
PHILOSOPHY
Music is an integral part of humanity and is therefore an essential part of education. It serves as a vehicle for enjoyment and personal expression through which cultural heritage is passed on to each generation. Through music education, our students will obtain skills necessary to develop and use their musical creativity and talent to the fullest of their capabilities.
