The Professional Library is an education research library providing services to PWCS employees, graduate and undergraduate students, and others who need access to materials related to education.

RESEARCH ON EDUCATIONAL TOPICS
  • Print sources and online sources are utilized to find information to meet your requirements.  
  • Contact Angie Sowers by phone (703.791.7334), fax (703.791.8874), email, or in person with your research request.  In most cases, a bibliography for your topic will be emailed on the same day.  
  • In many cases, full-text articles can be e-mailed directly to you.
  • Books and journals can be sent to you through interoffice mail.

Call or send a e-mail message and receive a prompt response to your question.

CIRCULATION

    Circulation Policy:

  • Books and journals are available for circulation.  You can use the Online Catalog to e-mail requests for materials.
  • Request materials by phone (703.791.7334), fax (703.791.8874), email, or in person. 
  • Items are checked out for 30 days and may be renewed.
  • Return items in person or through interoffice mail at any time during the check-out period
  • Items may be recalled for use by another patron after two weeks; recalled items can be returned to you after their recall if you still need them.
  • No overdue fines are charged; prompt return of items is appreciated.
  • Fines are charged to replace LOST materials:  Books = $50; Journal = $10/per copy; Videos = $100.  Charges include ordering and processing costs in addition to replacement cost.  Actual replacement cost will be charged whenever the price is greater than $50 for books or $100 for videos.

Suggestions for materials to add to the Staff Library collection are welcomed.

ROUTING OF CURRENT PERIODICALS UPON REQUEST
  • You can be added to a routing list to receive newsletters and/or journals on a regular basis by sending a request (email preferred) to the Staff Library.  In order to remain on a routing list from last year, you must send a new request. 
  • For a list of current titles available, click on the following links or check on the online catalog
  • Upon request, you can sent TOC's (tables of contents) from current issues in the Professional Library by e-mail.

A computer is available in the Professional Library for your use with access to:
