Education Foundation Adopts SPARK as New Name

The Prince William County Public Schools Education Foundation is now known as SPARK, the Education Foundation for Prince William County Public Schools. With a goal of “Supporting Partnerships And Resources for Kids (SPARK),” the Foundation desired an updated look and feel that not only represents the Foundation’s enthusiasm for inspiring students and teachers, but also has a more energetic and youthful appearance that will resonate better with students and the community – those stakeholders that the Foundation works to serve.

SPARK will continue to operate in the same manner as the PWCS Education Foundation always has, with a mission of engaging community partners to fund and promote initiatives that enhance educational excellence. SPARK will continue to support the Foundation’s current initiatives, including the Innovative Grants program, the Dr. Edward L. Kelly Memorial Scholarship awards, and the ongoing financial support of the “SchoolFusion” online communications tool for all 88 Division schools.

“We are excited about new ventures that are on the horizon and all the work that we do to provide innovative solutions for our students’ and teachers’ educational needs,” says Sharon Henry, executive director of SPARK. “ As the Foundation moves into this next era with a new name and a fresh image, we are confident that everyone will continue to support our efforts and help us ignite a SPARK in students and teachers to excel.”
