Innovative Grants
- Provided funding for a program to teach elementary school students the importance of reducing disease transmission by learning proper hand-washing techniques and using “glogerm” kits.
- Funded an “Art and History” program for eighth-graders that taught students about the cultures and traditions of ancient civilizations through research and the “hands-on” reproduction of a representative work of art.

Provided funding for “Jump to Success through Journalism” for at-risk students to improve their writing skills through the publication of a school newspaper, giving them an opportunity to learn elements of photography and design.

Funded “Seeing is Believing” which provided students with accessibility to equipment to enhance their understanding of abstract scientific concepts.

Provided transportation for 2,880 students to attend interactive performances by the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.

Funded activities to support children’s literacy through “Linking Literacy to Every Student.”
“School Fusion”
The Prince William County Public Schools Education Foundation proudly supports the Divisionwide rollout of the new "School Fusion" online communications tool. The update began in early October at the high school level, and all remaining schools will be converting to the School Fusion format throughout the remainder of the school year. This initiative is funded, in part, by the leasing of sponsorship space on school Web pages. Annual Activities
- Sponsor the “Tee Off for Education” Golf Classic fundraising event.
- Host the “Honoring Our Heros in Education” gala to recognize major contributors for their support of the Foundation and its mission.
- Coordinate the Superintendent’s Business Breakfast to provide a “State of the Schools” update and to spotlight the School Division’s commitment to excellence.
- Recognize the Prince William County Pubilc Schools Principal of the Year and Teacher of the Year with banner presentations at their respective schools.
