Physical Education

The Physical Education Department is focusing on the goal of improving physical fitness, wellness, and skill development.  Our mission is for all students to achieve these goals and meet state standards by the time they leave the 5th grade.   Our 4th and 5th graders should strive to meet 50% or above in the President’s Physical Fitness Challenge.  We will also focus on  all students showing good sportsmanship and safety.

Music

Our purpose in Music class is to learn about ourselves, about others and about the world around us. We share a vision of being a joyful village of music makers, movers, and doers. Our mission is to be active participants and careful listeners - always trying our best in every music activity.  Each year 80% of each grade level meets or exceeds the Learning Sequence Tonal and Rhythm expectations. We care for others, our music room, the instruments, and ourselves.   We help others have fun while we make music.

Math/Science Lab

In the Math/Science lab, the teacher will use math and science resources to create fun curriculum based activities for all students. The students will have positive participation in the Math/Science Lab through self-management and being responsible learners. With Math and Science, learning is fun!

Art

In Art class, our mission is to learn about art and how to solve art problems creatively. Our vision is to use art to provide a creative outlet to express ourselves and enhance our minds.

Library

The mission in the library is to encourage reading for pleasure and reading for information. The library hosts two book fairs throughout the school year to provide a variety of reading experiences for all students.

Computer Lab

In the computer lab, teachers and students share a vision for using technology as a tool for learning. Keeping safety a priority, students will learn effective strategies for using technology resources. We have 28 DELL computers available for students as well as an interactive SMART Board.
