The Prince William County Schools offers Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (JROTC) programs in eight high schools. All of the programs are designed to teach leadership, self-discipline, citzenship and organizational skills.
The course of instruction is a comibined program of classroom instruction and practical application designed to emphasize leadership education and development. Basic instruction in leadership tenets, health and physical fitness, drill and ceremonies, and military organization are taught as a means to develop leadership qualities. JROTC sutdents are frequently involved in the following activities: drill team, air rifle competions, community servie, color guard, academic team, mini-boot camp, and orienteering. |

Military Science is designed to provide instruction in a Spirit of American Citizenship, techniques of communication, leadership, military history, basic soldiering skills, customs and sourtesies of the Army, and motivational programs. |

The Leadership Education program is designed to emphasize leadership education and development. Basic training in leadership tenets, physical fitness, health, drill and ceremonies, and military organization are also important skills that are emphasized in instruction. |

Naval Science is designed for instruction in leaership, government, geography, naval history, introductory navigation, basic seamanship, and military customs and courtesies.
