Art Room News

All grade level artists
leaped into the new school year by creating a frog project.
Kindergarteners made huge textured sponge painted frogs; 1st
graders painted large frogs in tempera paint; 2nd graders’
frogs were a paper collage called in the form of zig-zag frogs; 3rd
graders used oil pastels to draw a red-eyed tree frog; 4th
graders made a unique watercolor background for their frogs using salt
and 5th graders made a frog totem similar to those of the
Kwakiutl Native Americans. You better catch this exhibit soon, because
these frogs are jumping off the walls!
Once again, I’m awed by
the generosity and support from Marshall parents. So many of you have
granted an “Art Wish” and have brought needed supplies and recyclables
for the art room. You have also been great about helping out at home
and at school. I enjoyed meeting many of you at the Back to School
nights.
I’m excited about the
upcoming school year. Your children are enthusiastic and talented art
students and working with them is so much fun!
