Graham Park Tournment
The Graham Park Middle School and C.D. Hylton High School conducted a scholastic chess tournment on Graham Park on January 19th. Two hundred-five students from around the county were there to compete. We had 27 students from our school attend. Carson Opela, Noah Sexton and Dorianne Malbrough won a medal in the primary section and the Mary Williams players captured the 4th place team trophy in this section. In the elementary section, Wasay Quadry was awarded the 7th place individual trophy while Trey Ross and Santiago Barrero each won a medal. Mary Williams won 1st place team trophy in this section. Jammin' in the Jungle
JAMMIN’ IN THE JUNGLE is a 5 th grade melodic percussion ensemble that plays music from Zimbabwe, Australia and other various regions where xylophone or marimba music is popular. Students involved in this ensemble meet on Monday mornings before school at 8 a.m. and rehearse until 8:45 a.m. This year it is the hope of the ensemble and Mr. Wilson to perform for various assemblies and evening concerts to entertain and enjoy this exciting music.
