Timothy L. Healey
Associate Superintendent for Student Learning and Accountability
703.791.8710 Timothy L. Healey was appointed as Associate Superintendent for Student Learning and Accountability for Prince William County Public Schools (PWCS) effective July 1, 2010. He began his career with PWCS at Woodbridge High School in 1989 as an English teacher and then, in 1995, became teacher on administrative assignment there. He served as assistant principal of Osbourn Park High School from 1997–99 and was principal of Osbourn Park High School until his appointment as Associate Superintendent for Student Learning and Accountability.
Healey holds a bachelor’s degree in English from James Madison University and a M.Ed. in Educational Administration from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech). He has completed significant course work toward a doctoral degree in educational leadership, also at Virginia Tech.
In 2006–07, Healey was a finalist for “The Washington Post” Distinguished Educational Leadership Award and finalist for Prince William County Principal of the Year.. Among his most recent accomplishments, Healey co-authored a book on transitioning students into high school, entitled “The Insider’s Guide to High School: A Parent’s Handbook for the Ninth Grade Year,” published by Vandamere Press, St. Petersburg, FL.
The Associate Superintendent for Student Learning and Accountability directs and supervises the organization, planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of the Department of Student Learning and Accountability as it carries out its function of providing a high quality curriculum and comprehensive instructional support to schools to ensure that all children meet or exceed their learning abilities. In planning and implementing instructional programs, the associate superintendent for Student Learning and Accountability supervises and coordinates with the directors of five offices, initiates or considers various proposals for instructional programs, and conducts assessments of educational needs.
