With heavy hearts the Media Production Services Department shares the passing of their beloved friend and Bookkeeper, Kathy McMillan. Her recent struggle with multiple illnesses has come to an end and she passed away in her home with her husband at her side. She will be buried in North Carolina along side her father.

Saturday, December 8, former Gar-Field math teacher, Faye Simon passed away.
Faye is survived by her husband Randy, daughter, Melanie, and her sister, Mildred Hooper. In addition, Faye leaves behind the legions of students she taught at Gar-Field over her 28 year career and the many colleagues with whom she worked. Joseph Anthony Pilla Jr., retired Prince William County Public Schools Teacher
Joseph Anthony Pilla Jr. passed away on November 3, 2012. Mr. Pilla was hired as a business teacher with Prince William County Public Schools in 1974 and retired in 2005. He continued his association with Prince William County Public Schools through the Retirement Opportunity Program (ROP) until 2011. He taught for many years at Stonewall Jackson High School in Manassas. View obituary.

William “Bill” Teel, former Prince William County Public Schools Teacher and Coach
Bill Teel passed away in Greenville, N.C. on October 27. He taught science in Prince William County Public Schools for over 20 years, mostly at Brentsville Middle-Senior High School and coached the Brentsville varsity softball team to a state championship in 1998. He also assisted with the high school football and wrestling teams and was well-known for a long career as an umpire in youth leagues and men’s softball leagues. He was beloved by his students and had a lasting impact on their lives. He retired about 10 years ago and had lived for the last few years in Greenville with his sister. His family, former friends, colleagues, and students are planning to have a Celebration of Life gathering for Bill at the Brentsville High School Gymnasium on Sunday, November 11 at 4 p.m.

Dr. Edward Doyle, former Principal at New Dominion

Dr. Edward Doyle passed away on October 18. He was principal of New Dominion Alternative Center from 1991 to 2006. He received The Washington Post Distinguished Educational Leadership Award and was named Prince William County Public Schools Principal of the Year in 2001-02. Read obituary.

Ms. Dianne Ferree was a biology teacher at Potomac High School who worked for PWCS from 1984 until her retirement in 2008. She also served as Department Chair for several years there.
