Student Leadership Conference on March 14 Expected to Draw 1,000 High School Students
February 4, 2013
High school students looking for opportunities to build leadership skills should take advantage of an upcoming conference designed to help them do just that. The all-day conference, scheduled for March 14 at The Hylton Performing Arts Center on the Prince William Campus of George Mason University, will bring together up to 1,000 students for sessions on leadership skills, wellness, financial aid, interview skills, and career pathways. The Student Leadership Conference is open to all high school students, but seating is limited, so anyone interested should contact their school counselor for information on how to attend. Additional information is available on the Office of Multicultural Education Web site. “This year's conference is designed to encourage students to take on leadership challenges to make a difference in their neighborhoods, schools, community, and nation,” said Ken Bassett, director of Student Learning for PWCS. “We are very excited to provide an opportunity for students to come together to learn more about service, civic responsibility, and leadership,” he said.
