Multicultural Day offered the perfect time to mark Penn Elementary School's recognition as a School of Excellence.

Dr. Steven L. Walts, School Board members Lisa E. Bell and Lillie G. Jessie, Principal Linda Hange, Sherri Berekman, Todd EricksonStudents at Penn Elementary prepare for success in a global society by celebrating cultures of the world and achievement at home. Multicultural Day offered the perfect time to mark Penn’s recognition as a School of Excellence.

Colorfully costumed Penn Elementary School students and staff helped raise awareness of cultures and customs around the world. The event creates appreciation of diversity and helps equip students for future success.

School Board Members Lisa E. Bell (whose Neabsco District is home to Penn ES) and Lillie G. Jessie (Woodbridge), Superintendent Steven L. Walts, and Associate Superintendent Todd Erickson joined Principal Linda L. Hange and Assistant Principal Sherri Berkman and the students and staff of Penn Elementary School in celebrating Penn’s selection as a School of Excellence for 2012.
