The Office of Multicultural
Education assists schools and communities in continuous improvement of
academic achievement and social wellness for all students. |
| MISSION
STATEMENT |
The Office of Multicultural
Education will provide on-going professional development for teachers and
staff; will be a liaison between schools and communities to promote awareness
of events; will foster respect for and appreciation of diversity; and will
render a multi-faceted perspective of historical events. |

Multicultural education is an on-going process to create a learning environment that:
- demonstrates and teaches respect, understanding and appreciation for people from all backgrounds.
- provides equitable learning opportunities for all students.
- teaches students about the experiences, cultures, perspectives, and histories of the various groups of people that make up the United States.
- encourages students to become active in their communities.

The Office of Multicultural Education is committed to assisting school staffs and administrators to achieve these goals. |
