VISION STATEMENT

 

The Office of Multicultural Education assists schools and communities in continuous improvement of academic achievement and social wellness for all students.
MISSION STATEMENT

The Office of Multicultural Education will provide on-going professional development for teachers and staff; will be a liaison between schools and communities to promote awareness of events; will foster respect for and appreciation of diversity; and will render a multi-faceted perspective of historical events.

Multicultural education is an on-going process to create a learning environment that:

  • demonstrates and teaches respect, understanding and appreciation for people from all backgrounds. 
  • provides equitable learning opportunities for all students. 
  • teaches students about the experiences, cultures, perspectives, and histories of the various groups of people that make up the United States.
  • encourages students to become active in their communities.

 

The Office of Multicultural Education is committed to assisting school staffs and administrators to achieve these goals.
