U.S. Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos

U.S. Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos visited Prince William County Public Schools’ Ashland Elementary today to see the amazing work being done to educate every child, and especially military students during this “Month of the Military Child.” A tour led by Principal Andy Jacks included a student interview with Secretary De Vos, visits to multiple classrooms, and a look at how Ashland Elementary students are refurbishing computers for use by needy families.

She first took notice of Ashland when students from the school donated a “Month of the Military Child” themed quilt to the Department of Education on behalf of PWCS.  During her visit, Secretary DeVos read to students, then met with military-connected students, parents, and staff members, who applauded both Ashland and PWCS efforts to serve military families.
