Walts will present the proposed fiscal year 2018 budget to the School Board at the Board’s regular meeting on Wednesday, February 1. The meeting will begin at 7 p.m. in the School Board meeting room in the Edward L. Kelly Leadership Center, 14715 Bristow Road, Manassas.

Public Meeting on FY 2018 Budget/CIP February 6

The public will have an opportunity to share their views on the proposed budget when Superintendent Walts and school finance officials present the proposed budget to the public on February 6 beginning at 7 p.m. in Room 1101 of the Kelly Leadership Center.  

Those who wish to speak at this public meeting need to sign up at the door prior to 7 p.m. Speakers will be limited to three minutes each. School Board members will be present to hear public comment. Chairman Sawyers will preside over the public comment portion of the meeting that will follow the budget presentation. Citizens wishing to provide early input on the budget are encouraged to attend this meeting.

Budget Work Sessions

School Board budget work sessions will be held at 6 p.m. on February 22 and March 2. A special work session for final markup on the FY 2018 budget is scheduled for Wednesday, March 8 at 6 p.m.

Public Hearing

An official public hearing is slated for Wednesday, March 15, following which the School Board is scheduled to approve the Proposed FY 2018 Budget and CIP. The School Board will then present its budget to the Prince William Board of County Supervisors (BOCS) on March 28.
