Adults: Can life and work skills earn you a HS diploma?

Are you over 18 and need a high school diploma to advance in your career? If you have acquired academic skills through life and work experiences and can demonstrate what you have learned, the National External Diploma Program (NEDP) may be for you. In addition to programs in GED preparation and test practice, citizenship preparation, and high school equivalency, the PWCS Office of Adult Education offers this competency-based high school completion program for individuals 18 years of age and older. Successful completion of this self-directed program earns the participant a high school diploma through the PWCS Office of Adult Education, issued by the local school board.

To learn more about the NEDP program, attend one of the information sessions, scheduled for your convenience at both 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. on the following dates:

  • November 4, 2019
  • December 2, 2019
  • January 6, 2020
  • February 3, 2020
  • March 2, 2020
  • April 6, 2020
  • May 4, 2020
  • June 1, 2020

Information sessions are held at the Adult Learning Center, Building 4, 14800 Joplin Road, Manassas, VA 20112 (Independent Hill) and include an evaluation to assess readiness for the program. There is no charge for the session and assessment.

The initial program registration cost is $200, payable in cash, cashier’s check, or money order. Non-residents of Prince William County, Manassas, or Manassas Park pay an additional fee.
