NBC Washington and Telemundo 44 recently donated 650 supply-filled backpacks to students at Neabsco and Loch Lomond Elementary Schools through SPARK, the education foundation for Prince William County Public Schools.

“SPARK is grateful for the donation of backpacks and school supplies from NBC Washington and Telemundo 44,” said Dawn Davis, executive director of SPARK. “Our students at both Neabsco and Loch Lomond Elementary Schools will put their new backpacks and supplies to good use during the 2019-20 school year.”

The donations were provided through the NBC4/T44 Backpacks 4 Kids/Supporting Our Schools campaign, in which the stations solicit donations from viewers. PWCS Superintendent Dr. Steve Walts and Nestor Alvarenga, community affairs manager for the stations, joined Davis and Neabsco Principal Christopher Tsang in a small ceremony presenting the donations to Neabsco students. The stations also broadcasted a story about the ceremony and donations.
