Happy Holidays!!! Our Savings to you!!!

Hello Occoquan Elementary School parents! We haven’t communicated with you since Back To School night in September and the PTA thought it would be good to share with you what we have been able to fund so far this year. As shared with you during BTS night, our top priority is to fund at least one field trip and one publication per grade level so that those savings are passed on to you! Please take a look below:

 1^st Grade

0.        $505.70 for Weekly Reader – a weekly educational classroom magazine designed for children in grades Pre-K–6

 2^nd Grade

0.        $864.00 for the 2^nd graders to go to the Belvedere plantation reflecting in no parent contribution.

0.        We paid $538.20 to Scholastic Magazines. 

3^rd Grade

0.        $918.50 to American Legacy Publishing/Classroom Magazine.

0.        $1250.00 towards the Hemlock field trip which  will result in each parent paying only half of the fee.

 4^th Grade

0.        $2000.00 towards the Williamsburg Field Trip. Coupled with the discount Williamsburg gave OES, this resulted in each parent only paying $17.00 per student/chaperone.

As we continue to take in requests from those grade levels we are continuing to work with representatives from the Kindergarten and 5^th grade levels to see what activities/publications are of interest to them. If you have any ideas, let you child’s teacher know!

In addition to those funded projects we are also continuing to reimburse teachers for classroom supplies, conferences and have made a donation to OES social committee to assist with recognition of OES teacher/faculty appreciation weeks.

Collect Box Tops for
Education

Earn cash for your school through something you do at least EVERY WEEK: buying groceries .  Look for the Box top logo on products you already buy.  Clip them send them in to your child's teacher. Be sure to place your
CHILDS TEACHER’S name on the BACK of the label. At then end of the year, the class with the most labels will get a PIZZA PARTY!  Look for the BOX TOP label on such items as;Totino's^® Pizza Snacks  and Pillsbury^® Oven Baked Rolls are two products you will find the box top logos.
