Cognitive Abilities Test

The Cognitive Abilities Test is given to third grade students. This test assesses their abilities in verbal, nonverbal, and quantitative areas. The results will help determine eligibility for the gifted program.

Parents as Education Partners      (PEP)

The Parents as Education Partners Program (PEP) began on November 5. This is a program designed to help parents learn about the American school system, as well as improve their English skills. It will be held from 4:00 - 6:00 PM on Wednesdays in room 302.                                

Literacy Night

Come and join the first grade teachers for a special “Literacy Night,” at 6:15 p.m. on November 18. Come and find out how to help your child develop reading skills. You will have lots of fun.

No School

Remember to tell your day care providers when school is not in session. Students do not attend school on November 27 and 28.

Students are released at 12:15 on November 26, the Wednesday before Thanksgiving

Math Workshops for Parents

Math Workshops will be offered for parents at Independent Hill (central office).

The addition and subtraction workshop will be held on November 17, from 7:00-8:30 p.m. and December 9, from 10:00-11:30 a.m.

The multiplication and division workshop will held on November 20, from 7:00-8:30 p.m. and December 10, from 10:00-11:30 a.m.
