2008 Summer Session Calendar
Registration Open:   5/1-6/20 online at:    www.pwcs.edu/pwcsvirtualhs
  • Registration is open based on available space - some courses fill quickly - register early!
  • Courses may be canceled if there are fewer than 5 students enrolled
  • Tuition must be paid in full BEFORE the course begins - NO LATER THAN 6/25.   Details available on our website.

Orientation:   The VHS @ PWCS has two orientations:  

1. the program orientation, which is online and available five days prior to the first day of class, and

2.    the course orientation, which is either in person or online on the first day of class:   Monday June 30th 2:00 - 4:00 at Battlefield High School (15000 Graduation Dr. , Haymarket, VA 20169 571-261-4400)

**Both of these orientations are REQUIRED of ALL students.   It is highly recommended that students attend the course orientation in person.
** You must have reliable computer/Internet access each day of the course session.   Students cannot "miss" a week of class and then "make up" the work.   If you plan to go on vacation or attend a camp during summer school, you must plan to have access to your course during that time.

Drop/Refund Deadline:   July 7th.    If a student requests to drop a course prior to 7/7, a refund will be issued (less a $50 processing fee).   The refund check will be mailed in 4-6 weeks to the parents at the home address.

Holiday:   July 4 (no deadline)
Mid-term Exam:   Friday, July 18th at Battlefield HS   *Photo ID Required*
1:30 - 3:30 English, Science, HPE
3:30 - 5:30 Social Studies, Math, Spanish

Make up exam:   Monday, July 21st at Battlefield HS 1:30 - 3:30 (all subjects)


SOL Exam Schedule:   All SOL Exams are administered with the regular summer school program.   Dates will be announced at the orientation session. Students are required to take the SOL exam unless they have previously passed the exam.   Students may not "opt out" of the SOL exam because they do not "need it" and still receive credit for the course.

Final Exam:   Friday, August 8th at Battlefield HS   *Photo ID Required*
(NOTE:   If you are a senior planning to participate in the graduation ceremony on 8/7, you must complete your VHS course by 8/1 and take your exam on Monday 8/4)
1:30 - 3:30 English, Science, HPE
3:30 - 5:30 Social Studies, Math, Spanish

Make up exam:   Monday, August 11th at Battlefield HS 1:30 - 3:30 (all subjects)
