ABOUT WOODBINE PRESCHOOL

Woodbine Preschool originally opened in the 1950s as an elementary school, serving the Woodbine and Independent Hill communities. In 1976, the school became a center for preschool-aged children with developmental disabilities and continues to serve that student population.

COMMUNITIES SERVED

Students who attend Woodbine Preschool live in different areas of Prince William County, but are primarily from Lake Ridge, Dale City, Manassas, Montclair, and Nokesville.

SPECIAL PROGRAMS

Woodbine students give dolls a bath.Woodbine Preschool offers specialty programs for children who demonstrate delays in their development. These students are first evaluated by the Prince William County Public Schools Child Find Office to identify the areas of delay. An Individualized Education Plan (IEP) is then developed to determine the appropriate program for each child and to identify educational goals to address the identified delays.

In addition, the classrooms and facilities at Woodbine, including the playground, are architecturally scaled to meet the needs of young children.

OPPORTUNITIES FOR PARENT & COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT

Parents have the opportunity to participate in their child's education program through home visits by each teacher. There are also a variety of ways in which parents may volunteer their time to support Woodbine's students and staff.

WHAT MAKES OUR SCHOOL UNIQUE?
