  Our Beliefs and Philosophy
The Springwoods Elementary Counselor believes in the value of each individual learner and serves as an advocate for all students.   Every learner shall have access to a comprehensive school counseling program that is both developmental and preventive in nature and which respects racial, ethnic, and cultural differences and special needs.

The counseling program is delivered by a state certified, masters’ degree level school counselor in collaboration with other school staff, and follows the Prince William County Schools K-12 School Counseling curriculum. The counselor strives for continuous improvement through participation in professional development activities and adheres to the ethical standards of the profession advocated by the American School Counselor Association.

Our Mission
The Springwoods Elementary School Counseling program provides individual, small group, classroom, and consultative services to foster student success in academics, personal/social skills, and career development.   The counselor works collaboratively with staff, students, and parents to ensure students achieve to their highest potential.
Welcome to Springwoods. I look forward to working with you to ensure your students' success, not only this year but in the future. You may see me busily running throughout the building, but if you'd like to know more about what school counselors actually do, please take a minute to read the PWCS Elementary Counseling Brochure. For some Back to School tips go to the American School Counselors Association.

As always, please do not hesitate to contact me anytime. I am always willing to make an appointment to meet with you. Send an email, note, or call the main office number. If I am not available they will take a message and I will call you back as soon as possible.
