November Message from the Principal
As I see the trees from my office window turning to their annual red glory, I know fall is well under way and the chill in the air is telling me that winter can’t be far away. With the end of the first grading period, it’s easy to see that our students and staff have settled into the rhythms of the school year. I hope you were able to make an appointment to meet with your children’s teachers to discuss their first quarter performance and that you had a very productive conference. Conferencing is an excellent way to become involved in your child’s education and also to get to know the teacher.
As the weather is getting colder, I want to remind everyone that students must not to be dropped off for school prior to 8:45 as there is no adult supervision provided prior to that time. I also want to take this opportunity to thank all of you who have cooperated patiently in the dropping off and picking up of children before and after school. The system moves quite smoothly on most days now and is the safest alternative for our students. We are still having some problems, however, with cars pulling into the special needs bus lane and the parking lot to drop off students. Please remember that if you pull into the main parking lot to deliver your students, you must park and walk them across the crosswalk yourself. Dropping students off in the lanes of traffic and having them walk alone could prove to be very dangerous! Please help us keep all of our students safe by abiding by our drop-off and pick-up rules and time schedules.
Until next month, take time to enjoy the beautiful colors of autumn and “fall” into a good book to share with your child.
Mrs. Jackson, Principal
