World Language teacher leaders made their presence known at the recent Foreign Language Association of Virginia (FLAVA) State Conference entitled, “Let Languages Unlock Your World” in a number of exemplary ways.

The following teacher leaders presented workshops at the three day conference in Williamsburg: Anastasia Cartlidge, world language administrative coordinator, presented on “Spark Student Talk with Interpersonal Tasks, A High Leverage Teaching Practice;” David Eifert, world language instructional coach, “Planning and Pacing for New Teachers;” Linda McGuigan, French teacher, Stonewall High School, “Supporting Learning Through Comprehensible Input;” and Kelly O. In addition, they were all cheered on by a number of PWCS leaders participating, too: Carol Bass, supervisor of world languages, Nicole Haston, department chair and Spanish teacher of Woodbridge High School, and Jamie Arredondo, department chair and Spanish teacher of Bull Run Middle School.
