Mission: To provide a Meaningful Watershed Educational Experience (MWEE) to students in Prince William County Public Schools, fostering environmental stewardship and promoting educational achievement.

The 6th grade field experience addresses the goal of the Chesapeake Bay Watershed Agreement to provide a MWEE for the middle school level.

The 2018 VA Standards of Learning addressed by this field experience include:

6.1 The students will demonstrate an understanding of scientific and engineering
practices.
6.8 Watershed systems are dynamic and complex; interactions within these
systems may influence the overall health of the watershed.
6.9 Natural resource management and health and safety issues related to the use
of resources should be considered in the development of public policy.

In addition, the field experience also includes cooperative/team building activities.
