Vocational assessment occurs across a continuum of educational and community based settings. During a vocational assessment, staff performs interviews, gathers background information, and in some cases, uses informal assessment tools to determine vocationally related interests, aptitudes, and preferences.
Assessment involving these activities is referred to as activities. This may also occur through Career Snapshot. For some students, a more comprehensive vocational evaluation is required. This may occur through referral to the Vocational Assessment Center where students work with the Vocational Evaluator on work sample Community-Based Situational Assessment where students are evaluated as they perform work-like activities in a community-based work setting.
