We understand summer plans can change. We are offering the following flexible refund policy for summer 2022.
Parent(s)/Guardian(s) must complete summer school registration in ParentVUE.
Students will complete the 2022 summer graduation intention during summer school registration in ParentVUE.
The graduation ceremony will be held on Thursday, August 4, 2022, at Gar-Field High School and begin at 7:30 p.m.
Graduates participating in the ceremony must report to Gar-Field High School on Thursday, August 4, 2022, at 6:00 p.m.
*Graduation practice will be held Thursday, August 4, 2022, at 7:30 a.m. at Gar-Field High School.
Summer SOL remediation and testing will be offered at Gar-Field High School.
Students enrolled in VA Public Schools who have passed a high school level tested course but need to achieve a passing score on the associated Virginia SOL test(s) may register to take an end-of-course SOL test. In accordance with the Virginia Standards for Accrediting Schools (Standards: 8 VAC 20-131-30.C), students in grades 9-12 may participate in a remediation program in the courses below at no charge. At the end of this course, students will retake the end-of-course SOL test.

The CTE Bootcamp is designed for Seniors who have not met the CTE certification requirement to graduate in June. This bootcamp offers Seniors the opportunity to graduate in August and be considered an on-time graduate.
There is no tuition for this program.

The following high school summer programs will be held in-person at Gar-Field High School:
Current high school students may take only one course for new or repeat credit during this six-week program. Students must attend the entire course and will earn one Carnegie Credit upon successful completion of the course. With approval from the student's administrator or designee, rising ninth-grade students may take a high school class for course credit.
*Students enrolled in this course will be offered an SOL test session at Gar-Field.
Students may not be absent for more than three cumulative days or 15 hours of the 29-day program to receive credit for the course taken. Students missing more than the three allotted days will be withdrawn from summer school and no course credit or refund will be given.
Information regarding attendance is detailed in the high school student handbook.
Grades will be calculated in accordance with the guidelines outlined in Prince William County Public Schools grading regulation.
Please note: Students who withdraw between June 27, 2022, and July 8, 2022, may do so without a grade penalty. Students who withdraw will not be refunded tuition. Students who withdraw between July 11, 2022, and July 22, 2022, will receive a mark of withdrawn failing (WF) or withdrawn passing (WP). Students who withdraw after July 22, 2022, will receive a mark of Fail (F).
Shuttle transportation service is provided from each of the county's high schools to Gar-Field High School. Please see the Summer School Transportation Information.
Tuition payments will only be accepted through the Student Quick Pay System.
Current PWCS parents/guardians will need to create an account at Student Quick Pay. Students will need to be added to the parents/guardians account using the Student ID number and last name. The student's last name must be written exactly as it appears in ParentVUE.

The High School Student Success Academy is available to students Grades 9-11. Students may only register for one session as the same curriculum will be taught each session. Register for the session closest to your location.
This one-week skill-building program focuses on the essential skills for academic success. This includes organization, time-management, note-taking, study and test taking skills, resume writing, college essay writing, and exploring post-secondary plans. This program is taught by a professional school counselor or school social workers.
There will be no late registration for this program.
This program will be in-person at Gar-Field High School.
Attendance is mandatory for all five days.
