"Spring into STEM" PWCS Title I FamilyCamp

The Title I Program is hosting a Spring Family Engagement Event. 

This event will focus on science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) education, and will be offered at two different locations on two different dates. Please register for the date that you would like to attend. Registration is required.

Eastern Prince William County

Date: Tuesday, March 7, 2023
Location: Swans Creek Elementary School (17700 Wayside Dr., Dumfries, VA 22026)
Time: 6-8 p.m.

Free dinner will be served from 6-6:30 p.m., and the sessions will be held from 6:30-8 p.m.

Western Prince William County

Date: Thursday, March 16, 2023
Location: Mullen Elementary School (8000 Rodes Dr., Manassas, VA 20109)
Time: 6-8 p.m.

Free dinner will be served from 6-6:30 p.m., and the sessions will be held from 6:30-8 p.m.

Sessions

Families can attend two sessions each night. All five presentations will be offered during each session.

  • Session 1 will be from 6:30-7:10 p.m.
  • Session 2 will be from 7:15-8 p.m.

All sessions that are offered are for grades K-12.

Gifted at a Glance: A Parent's Guide to Gifted Education

Learn more about the services available to students in grades K-12 through the Gifted Education program. In this session, we will discuss what it means to be "gifted," how students are identified for the program, and ways parents can support their gifted and advanced learners at home.

STEM Support 24/7: Paper Online Tutoring

This year, PWCS partnered with Paper Online Tutoring to bring free, unlimited online tutoring support to all students K-12. Paper includes the option to work with a tutor or practice math word problems on their own, whenever they'd like. Join this presentation to get a tour of the service and hear how many students and families are working with tutors from their kitchen table, whenever they prefer!
