  • Hylton High School Korean Teacher Awarded Grant

Students from the Korean class at Hylton HS

Korean teacher, Ms. Kay Choi, was awarded a grant from the Korean embassy's Korean Education Center to support the Korean language program at C.D. Hylton High School. The purpose of the funds is to help students and teachers increase awareness about Korean language and culture, contributing to improving students' communicative competence in Korean and to their preparation for an increasingly globalizing society.

The funds will be used to enhance online teaching and learning by providing headsets with microphones to the students so they can speak and listen to Korean in class. Students will also be able to use a high-quality stylus pen with their devices so they can write the Korean alphabet Hangul. Ms. Choi also hopes to invite a guest performer to give a short introduction to Korean music and dancing.

Congratulations to Ms. Choi and her students of Korean!
