Boundary Process

Prince William County Public Schools is currently working with a parent committee on adjusting elementary school attendance boundaries effective for the 2019-20 school year. These adjustments are needed to prepare for the opening of Prince William Parkway Elementary and room additions at Antietam, Lake Ridge, Springwoods, Minnieville and Leesylvania Elementary Schools.

New information related to the capacity of Occoquan Elementary School has enabled the boundary planning committee to recommend approximately 80 more of Occoquan Elementary School’s current students to remain assigned to Occoquan Elementary. This additional capacity has prompted the updating of the boundary planning committee’s three recommended boundary plans by combining the areas assigned to Occoquan Elementary in each of them. These updates have been completed in coordination with the Boundary Planning Committee representatives from the affected areas.

The attendance area recommendations for Occoquan, Rockledge, Kilby, and Belmont Elementary Schools are now same in each of committee's three recommended boundary plans. You can see those plans here.

The Office of Facilities Services will be presenting the Committee’s Report of Boundary Recommendations to the School Board at 7:00 p.m. on January 2, 2019, at the Kelly Leadership Center
