Two Freedom High School AP teachers awarded 2019 AP Summer Institutes scholarships

Two Freedom HS teachers awarded AP Summer Institute scholarshipsFreedom High School Advanced Placement (AP) teachers Nicole Greenway and Tiffany Newell have received scholarships from the College Board to attend 2019 AP Summer Institutes. These institutes provide educators with professional development as well as improve their AP programs.

An AP Fellows Scholarship was awarded to Greenway (AP Biology). This scholarship is awarded to teachers at schools that have 50 percent or more minority students or 50 percent or more of low-income students, or a combination of both.

Newell (AP U.S. Government and Politics) received the AP New Resources Scholarship. The New Resources scholarship is for teachers who are planning to teach an AP subject using new resources at schools serving low-income students.
