Prince William County to host a symposium on human trafficking prevention

The Greater Prince William Human Trafficking Task Force and the Greater Prince William Sexual and Domestic Violence Prevention Council will host a Human Trafficking Prevention Symposium from 10 a.m. to noon on Wednesday, January 29, 2020, at the McCoart Building. The event is free and open to the public.

Angella Alvernaz, state trafficking response coordinator for the Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services and former PWCS employee, will provide the keynote address on the “State of the State.” The symposium will also feature Mary Ellen Smith, human trafficking prevention specialist for PWCS, who will present an update on the Prince William County Trafficking Prevention Program.

The McCoart Building, a Prince William County (PWC) Government building, is located at 1 County Complex, in Woodbridge. If either PWCS and/or the PWC Government closes for inclement weather, the snow date will be February 21, 2020.
