Colleges and Programs
It is the responsibility of the license holder to make sure all college licensure programs are acceptable to the Virginia Department of Education. All out-of-state licensure programs must be accepted by the state department of education where the college resides and be a comparable endorsement area offered by the Virginia Department of Education. All programs and course work must be completed through a regionally accredited agency approved by the Virginia Department of Education. Be very careful when selecting a program, many colleges offer degree programs that may not lead to licensure.
