2024-25 Launching, Learning, Leading Induction Conference

All new certified hires joining Prince William County Public Schools (PWCS) for the 2024-25 school year are required to attend the Launching, Learning, Leading (LLL) induction conference. Online registration will be available the week of July 22.

This year's conference kicks off with school-based orientation at the employee's assigned school/work location for the morning on August 8, followed by division-led sessions at Patriot High School in the afternoon. LLL concludes on August 9 at Patriot High School with a full-day session for first-year educators.

Thursday, August 8

Half-Day School-Based Orientation

Location: Base school/work location
Time: 8 - 11 a.m.

  • Required audience: All new certified employees, including educators new to PWCS, first-year Participate Learning teachers, and first-year Teaching Professionals on Temporary Assignment (TPOTA).
  • Lead mentors and school administrators share school-based information.
Half-Day Division-Led Induction

Location: Patriot High School, 10504 Kettle Run Rd., Nokesville, VA 20181
Time: 12:30 - 3 p.m.

  • Required audience: All new certified employees, including first-year Participate Learning teachers and first-year Teaching Professionals on Temporary Assignment (TPOTA).
  • Includes welcome and learning sessions.
  • Educators should bring their school-issued devices to the session.

Friday, August 9

New Educator-Specific Induction at Patriot

Location: Patriot High School, 10504 Kettle Run Rd., Nokesville, VA 20181
Time: 8:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.

  • Required audience: First-year educators new to the profession, Participate Learning teachers, Teaching Professionals on Temporary Assignment (TPOTA), and all newly hired special educators.
  • Professional learning in alignment with the PWCS Strategic Plan with focused support for new educators on classroom management, working with diverse learners, and understanding and accessing Canvas and curriculum.
  • Educators should bring their school-issued devices to the session.
  • Lunch will be provided.

Due to the anticipated heavy traffic during arrival and departure at Patriot High School, participants should plan accordingly.

Note: If, within the last three years, staff are returning to PWCS and/or have attended the induction conference, they are only required to attend the school-based orientation on the morning of Thursday, August 8.
