2023-24 Launching, Learning, Leading Induction Conference
All new certified hires joining Prince William County Public Schools (PWCS) for the 2023-24 school year are required to attend the Launching, Learning, Leading induction conference. Registration through the conference website is required.
This year's conference kicks off with a full-day session on August 9 at Charles J. Colgan Sr. High School, followed by a school-based orientation at the employee's assigned school/work location on August 10, and concludes on August 11 at Colgan High School with a full-day session for first-year educators.
Attendance on August 9 is required for all new certified employees, including Participate Learning teachers and Teaching Professionals on Temporary Assignment (TPOTA).

Wednesday, August 9: Full-day induction at Colgan for all new certified employees
- Required audience: All new certified employees, including Participate Learning teachers and Teaching Professionals on Temporary Assignment (TPOTA)
- Time: 8 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
- Location: Charles J. Colgan Sr. High School, 13833 Dumfries Road, Manassas, VA 20112
- Includes a welcome session including a panel of experts and learning sessions
- Lunch will be provided
Thursday, August 10: School-Based Orientation
- Required audience: All new certified employees, including Participate Learning teachers and Teaching Professionals on Temporary Assignment (TPOTA)
- Time: Details provided by school administrators
- Location: Base school
- Lead mentors and school administrators share school-based information
Friday, August 11: New Educator-Specific Induction at Colgan
- Required audience: First-year educators, Participate Learning teachers, Teaching Professionals on Temporary Assignment (TPOTA), and all newly hired school counselors
- Time: 8 a.m. - 3 p.m.
- Location: Charles J. Colgan Sr. High School, 13833 Dumfries Road, Manassas, VA 20112
- Professional learning in alignment with the PWCS Strategic Plan and focused supports for new educators
- Lunch will be provided
