SAT/AP Testing

PWCS recommends that students should plan to take either the SAT or ACT for the first time by the spring of their junior year.

Below are Prince William County Public Schools testing locations and dates for the SAT and ACT for the 2023-24 school year, as reported in mid-August 2023. High schools without test dates listed are to be determined before the start of the school year. The College Board oversees the administration of the SAT, and a nonprofit organization oversees the ACT.

It is important to note that while these tests are administered at Prince William County Public Schools, the College Board and ACT handle all registrations. Additional test dates and locations outside of PWCS can be found on the registration websites.

Students must register with the appropriate testing company when taking the SAT or ACT at a time other than the opportunities listed in the blue box above. Links to the registration webpages can be found below.

Fee waivers are available for students with financial need. Contact your school counselor if you have questions about registering or paying for either the SAT or ACT.
