The Virginia Purple Star Designation honors military-friendly schools that have shown exceptional dedication to supporting the needs of military-connected students and their families through various forms of assistance.Bordered by U.S. Army Garrison Fort Belvoir to the north and Marine Corps Base Quantico to the south, Prince William County Public Schools (PWCS) educates 5,500 military-connected students. Many of our families live in PWCS but commute to these and other installations in the National Capital Region. Our goal is to make school transition as smooth as possible by building a system of supports that provides military-connected students and families with continuity in both academic and social-emotional areas.
