Bus Tracking App Pilot Program

EZ A2B - New Bus Tracking App Pilot Program

PWCS is changing to a new transportation management platform, EZRouting, to improve bus routing and services. The EZ A2B app, integrated with EZRouting, allows families to view student bus information and receive notifications about bus stop arrivals and delays.

PWCS is launching a pilot program starting April 22, 2025, to test the EZ A2B app. This pilot includes all buses servicing schools in Zone 10 (Forest Park HS, Graham Park MS, Ashland ES, Dumfries ES, Pattie ES, and Triangle ES), but will also include select buses from about 45 other schools with routes in Zone 10.

This pilot is the first phase of a three-phase rollout to transition from Here Comes the Bus to the EZ A2B.

  • Phase 1: Pilot program beginning April 22, 2025, including select buses.
  • Phase 2: Pilot program including all PWCS Summer Program buses.
  • Phase 3: All PWCS buses for the 2025-26 school year.

We expect the EZ A2B app to provide consistent, accurate, and timely information. Feedback received during Phase 1 and Phase 2 will help improve the experience, ensuring that the EZ A2B app is an effective tool for all families by the start of the 2025-26 school year.

How do I create an account in the EZ A2B app?

View instructions on how to create an account in the EZ A2B app.

Can a student create an account to track their own bus?

Yes. Students can create an EZ A2B account using their PWCS email address (e.g., [email protected]).

If my student’s bus is in the pilot group, will the Here Comes the Bus app still work?

The Here Comes the Bus app will remain functional through the end of the 2024-25 school year. However, the reliability and accuracy of buses included in the pilot may be affected.

We encourage all families with students who ride a bus in the pilot to use the EZ A2B app for more consistent, accurate, and timely information.

What differences can I expect?

To increase student privacy, bus tracking will be limited to a 2-mile radius around your student’s bus stop. The entire bus route will not be visible.

Alerts for bus changes will only come as push notifications through the app.

Will all of my students appear in the EZ A2B app during the pilot?

Yes. For families with multiple students, all students will appear in the account; however, bus tracking information will only be available for students who ride a bus included in the pilot.

Continue to use the Here Comes the Bus app for your students who do not ride a bus included in the pilot.

Can I update my student’s information in EZ A2B if they ride a different bus on certain days of the week?

No, only bus schedules and tracking information are available.

How does EZ A2B send notifications of changes related to student bus route changes?

EZ A2B users will receive push notifications through the app when a student’s bus enters the bus stop radius and when buses are delayed.

Why am I not getting notifications from the EZ A2B app on my phone?

Check the notification settings on your device to confirm that you allow the EZ A2B app to send you notifications.

If you continue to have problems with notifications, submit a support request to PWCS Transportation.

How does EZ A2B handle substitute buses and drivers?

EZ A2B provides a seamless substitution process. If a bus route has a substitute bus or driver, there will be no impact on the tracking in the app.

How do I get help or report an issue with the EZ A2B app?

If you have an issue creating an account or linking a student to an account, submit a support request to PWCS transportation.

When submitting a support request, select the topic “Bus Tracking App Pilot.”

How do I provide feedback related to the EZ A2B app?

During the pilot, users will receive in-app surveys asking questions about their experience using the app. All in-app surveys are optional, and responses are anonymous.

Users can also share feedback related to the EZ A2B app by emailing [email protected].

Will my feedback make a difference?

Absolutely! Your input will directly influence updates and improvements to the app. The app developer will use the feedback received during the pilot programs to make enhancements before it is ready for all for the 2025-26 school year.

We appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback.
