Office of the Ombudsman

Parents, students, and members of the school community may voluntarily seek confidential, impartial, and informal assistance in resolving concerns, conflicts, and issues arising within Prince William County Public Schools.
The Ombudsman operates in accordance with the following core values and is:

  • Confidential
  • Impartial
  • Independent
  • Informal

All members of the community served by the Ombudsman may voluntarily seek ombuds services and shall be treated with dignity and respect.

The Ombudsman is NOT affiliated with any compliance function and does NOT serve as an agent of notice for the Prince William County Public Schools.

The Ombudsman:

  • Listens and helps clarify visitor concerns;
  • Provides information and explores options available to visitors;
  • Facilitates discussions to resolve issues, as appropriate;
  • Collects data on emerging trends and patterns while safeguarding anonymity;
  • Utilizes data to make quarterly and annual reports to the School Board and Division Superintendent, including recommendations for systemic and organizational change.
