A cellphone on a table with the clock showing 6 a.m. On February 19, 2020, the Prince William County School Board voted unanimously to direct the Superintendent to study possible changes to start times for school, by means of benchmarking, surveys, and further research. This was also suggested by the student representative to the School Board.

This spring, staff will begin the early exploration of this study with benchmarking, research, and information gathering, including surveys. This first phase of work is anticipated to be completed near the end of the current school year. No changes to start times are expected for the coming school year (2020-21). Further information and input gathering from stakeholders including parents, students, and staff will occur after this initial phase.
