Prince William County Public Schools will host a virtual community meeting from 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, May 28, to present a school attendance area adjustment that unifies all of the Blackburn residential community in Chris Yung Elementary School's attendance area. Residents in the school attendance areas individually associated with Chris Yung and Mullen Elementary Schools are encouraged to attend. Only residents along Willow Green Circle, Blackburn Ridge Drive, Dry Spring Drive, and Cove Point Drive, located in the Blackburn residential community, are being proposed to have their elementary school assignments changed to Chris Yung, if currently assigned to Mullen.
During the virtual meeting, an administrative boundary adjustment proposal intended to correct the Blackburn residential community's split between Mullen and Chris Yung will be shared with the public. The meeting will include more specific information about the proposal, along with the justifications for unifying the Blackburn residential community. Staff will also receive public input on its boundary adjustment proposal that is recommended to be effective June 11, 2020.
