As United Way Month kicks off, PWCS invites you to join others who give to the United Way Campaign. Past contributions have funded a multitude of service organizations providing much-needed services, including shelter and emergency assistance, crisis intervention programs, care for terminally ill patients, family counseling, legal aid for the elderly, training for persons with severe handicaps, youth programs, and medical and dental care. Last year, PWCS employees contributed more than $68,000 to various organizations through the United Way Campaign.

SPARK, the Education Foundation for PWCS, receives thousands of dollars thanks to donations made through the United Way. This money helps the Foundation continue to offer educational assistance to students and teachers through the Innovative Grants program, scholarships, and other special projects.

Those interested in giving to SPARK this year may designate code 8167. Federal government employees may also donate dollars toward local education by contributing to SPARK via the Combined Charitable Campaign; designate code 84495 to have your money make a difference for education in Prince William County.

With the generous support of Bookworm Central and Chick-fil-A adding to the PWCS effort, SPARK looks forward to the most successful campaign yet.
