The Prince William County School Board will meet in closed session at 10 a.m. on Saturday, February 6, 2021, at the Edward L. Kelly Leadership Center, Bristow Road, Manassas, Virginia for the purpose of receiving a report from BPW & Associates, the firm which has been assisting the School Board in the ongoing search for a new superintendent to replace Superintendent Steven Walts, who is retiring effective July 1, 2021.
During the meeting, which will be closed to the public, BPW will report to the School Board on the search process to date and will identify a slate of candidates for the Board's consideration. The School Board will determine, based on a majority vote, which candidates it will invite for subsequent interviews. Following the interview phase of the search process, the School Board will vote in an open meeting to select the most qualified candidate who meets the Superintendent Profile which was developed by the School Board and BPW in early December of 2020 based on extensive input from parents, students, staff and other members of the PWCS school community.
