
Gar-Field
High
School
hosted
the
Athletics
and
Activities
Hall
of
Fame
events
for
the
fifth
year,
inducting
six
new
members
to
its
roster
of
former
student-athletes,
coaches,
and
others
who
have
made
an
impact
on
the
school
and
community.
The
event
honored
five
exceptional
athletes
and
a
former
principal
of
the
school.
Leading
up
to
this
event,
the
school
announces
a
call
for
nominees
who
have
exemplified
the
highest
standards
of
sportsmanship,
ethical
conduct,
and
moral
character.
The
individuals
selected
also
meet
specific
requirements
based
on
their
roles,
including
those
student-athletes
who
are
10
years
post-graduation,
coaches
who
are
retired
and
have
at
least
one
year
of
separation
from
the
school,
and
contributors
who
served
in
administration,
sports
medicine,
sports
media,
as
an
official,
as
event
personnel,
as
an
activity
sponsor,
or
as
a
participant.
The
new
inductees,
five
of
whom
are
former
student-athletes
and
one
a
contributor,
were
honored
at
a
halftime
varsity
football
game
and
a
luncheon
and
awards
ceremony,
where
they
or
their
representatives
were
presented
with
framed
plaques
bearing
the
Gar-Field
High
chenille
letters
and
an
engraved
name
plate.
The

- Manfred "Manny" Brown, multi-sport (football, basketball, baseball, track), 1963
