As
we
continue
to
navigate
the
dynamics
of
the
COVID-19
pandemic,
please
be
reminded
that
the
Virginia
Department
of
Health
(VDH)
and
the
Centers
for
Disease
Control
and
Prevention
(CDC)
have
issued
guidance
for
COVID
safety
during
the
Thanksgiving
break.
The
tips
below
should
help
all
students,
staff,
and
family
members
make
informed
decisions
about
their
plans.
-
If
you
are
two
years
of
age
or
older,
wear
a
mask
in
public
and
indoors
to
protect
yourself
from
COVID-19
and
other
illnesses.
-
Stay
home
if
you
are
sick
and
get
tested,
especially
if
you
are
informed
or
suspect
being
exposed
to
someone
with
COVID-19.
-
If
you
haven't
done
so,
consider
getting
vaccinated
now
to
protect
yourself
and
others
for
the
rest
of
the
holiday
season.
-
The
week
before
any
gatherings,
take
enhanced
precautions
and
encourage
your
family
to
do
so
to
lower
the
chance
of
a
COVID-19
spread,
such
as:
-
Weather
permitting,
move
gatherings
outdoors.
Better
ventilation
means
a
lower
risk
of
illness
spread.
-
Avoid
non-essential
travel
and
crowded
events/venues/locations.
-
Self-monitor
for
symptoms,
and
immediately
seek
testing
if
you
develop
any.
-
If
you
feel
start
to
feel
sick
before
Thanksgiving,
refrain
from
attending
any
gatherings
to
avoid
getting
anyone
else
sick.
-
Should
you
attend
any
gatherings,
self-monitor
for
symptoms
the
week
after
to
avoid
spreading
illness
in
the
community.
Taking
the
adequate
precautions
will
allow
you
and
others
to
enjoy
a
safe
Thanksgiving
holiday.
