In
Jonathan
Alsheimer's
seventh
grade
history
classes
at
Fred
M.
Lynn
Middle
School,
the
industrialization
curriculum
is
paired
with
a
group
project
requiring
students
to
create
a
mock
business.
However,
reflecting
on
a
personal
experience
inspired
Alsheimer
to
make
a
change
to
the
project
this
school
year.
Students
instead
created
a
mock
nonprofit
organization.
The
lessons
from
the
activity
were
then
used
when
the
students,
Alsheimer,
and
Thomas
Annunziata,
a
math
teacher
at
Fred
Lynn
Middle,
created
From
Kids
to
Kids,
a
nonprofit
project
that
solicits
donations
to
make
gift
boxes
for
children.
