Full shot of Evan Kinsel

The United States Congress honored Evan Kinsel, a senior at Gainesville High School, with the Congressional Award Gold Medal. This prestigious award recognizes Evan’s outstanding leadership and dedication to community service, specifically his efforts in distributing food and supplies to the homeless in Northern Virginia and Washington D.C.

Evan led a team of 83 volunteers to distribute essential supplies to shelters throughout Northern Virginia and the D.C. area. His team provided hundreds of homeless individuals with donations of socks, hats, gloves, foil blankets, hand warmers, and personal hygiene supplies.

When asked about his motivation for leading such an ambitious project, Evan shared, “Helping the less fortunate, that’s just one of my family’s values. We embrace that together.”

As a gold medal recipient, Evan was honored recently at a ceremony at the U.S. Capitol Building.

As Evan prepares for his senior year at Gainesville High, he plans to continue serving the community. His dedication to service and leadership skills set a powerful example of how America’s youth can meaningfully contribute to the betterment of society.
