The Advanced Placement (AP®) School Honor Roll and Access Awards programs have recognized several high schools in PWCS for their efforts to promote AP course enrollment and provide equitable access to advanced coursework for students. To qualify for the AP® School Honor Roll, schools must meet specific standards related to college culture, college credit, and college optimization.
Congratulations to the following PWCS schools that received this recognition:
2024 AP School Honor Roll – Gold
- Gainesville High School
2024 AP School Honor Roll – Silver
- Charles J. Colgan Sr., Forest Park, Osbourn Park, and Patriot High Schools
2024 AP School Honor Roll – Bronze
- C.D. Hylton and Woodbridge High Schools
“Excellence for all students begins with opportunity. These schools not only provide access to college-level courses; they support their students to have success in those courses. We are so proud of the impact that they have had in elevating expectations and outcomes for their students,” said Dr. Stephanie Soliven, associate superintendent for teaching and learning.
The AP® Access Award honors schools that are committed to equitable opportunities for underrepresented minority and/or low-income students taking AP® courses. To earn this award, the percentage of underrepresented minority and/or low-income students who take the AP® exam must match the school’s overall demographics.
Congratulations to the following PWCS school that received this recognition:
2024 AP® Access Award
- C.D. Hylton Senior High School
“I work with fantastic teachers at Hylton who are committed to increasing the number of students, especially those underrepresented, in AP classes. Not only do these classes give students a better chance of succeeding in college but also provides them with the opportunity to expand their critical reading, thinking, and writing skills needed for post-graduate success,” stated Cassandra Crawford, principal at Hylton High.
