March 13, 2025
Dear PWCS Families,
The data verification process for the 2025-26 Specialty Program applications is now complete. Official results are now available in ParentVUE.
As we shared in our communication on March 7, there were errors in the previously published outcomes. These errors included the improper allocation of seats in some programs. All programs have been reviewed, and all students have now received the proper seating based on their lottery outcome, preferences, and available seats. You may see results that differ from the previously posted outcomes. The outcomes now posted in ParentVUE are final. We deeply regret the previous errors and apologize to those impacted.
Thank you for your patience as we worked to review each student and ensure an accurate lottery for all students.
Follow these steps to view:
- Log in to your ParentVUE account.
- On a web browser, you should be taken directly to the Status Page. If you are not, please select Online Records in the top right corner, and then select Status in the same corner.
- Using the mobile app, select OLR Online Records and then select Open Online Registration. From the account profile icon at the top of the screen, click Status and then the status will display.
Important Information:
One Program Offer: Each student is offered a seat in only one program.
Decision Status: You can find the decision in the status column of the application. Here are the possible decision statuses you may see:
- Accepted: Your student has been offered a seat in the program. Please accept or decline it by the end of the day on Friday, March 21. If not accepted by this date, the offer will be automatically declined.
- Cancelled: Your student was offered a seat in a program that they ranked higher than this program when applying.
- Waitlist: Your student is on the waitlist in the program. Accepting an offered seat will not impact your position on the waitlist. PWCS will rerun the waitlist at the first of each month in April, May, June, and July and will notify any families who may receive an offer as a result.
- Denied: Your student’s application did not meet the necessary qualifications to advance to the lottery or selection stage. During the first review phase of the application process, each school evaluates whether students meet the necessary qualifications to advance to the lottery or selection stage. These qualifications include a fully completed application, meeting the program requirements, living within the school/program boundary, and/or a successful audition. If you have questions about a denial status for one or more programs, please contact the school’s program coordinator.
Next Steps:
- Accept or Decline: If your student was accepted into a program, please accept or decline by Friday, March 21.
- Reapply Next Year: If your student was not offered a seat this upcoming year, they may reapply for a program next year.
Please note that the Governor’s School @ Innovation Park results will be released March 28. Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology results will be released April 30. Students waiting for these results can accept current offers for Specialty Programs in ParentVUE. Accepting a seat in a PWCS Specialty Program will not impact those applications.
If you have specific questions regarding a program, please contact the school’s program coordinator. You can find all coordinators listed on the PWCS Specialty Programs website by selecting the school level on the left and then scrolling to the specific program.
Sincerely,
Prince William County Public Schools
